The STEM Fair is back, and now is the time to jump on the bandwagon! The fair is stuffed with great job opportunities and helpful resources for students. The Career Services office is available again to assist students in preparing an amazing resume for the participating companies.

We’ve all heard about the common symptoms of graduation: the frantic excitement; the knot in our stomachs; the sinking feeling; and the frantic hope that everything is going to work out.

3MT, meaning “Three Minute Thesis,” is an event that challenges students working on a graduate degree to present their thesis in just three minutes. And to make matters more interesting, the students must explain it using language that a non-specialist audience will understand. This university-wide 3MT event will take place on Thursday, 5 March 2015, in the BYU Varsity Theatre. The first place winner of the university competition will receive $5,000; second place will receive $2,500; third place will receive $1,000; and the people’s choice will win $1,000.

Fall brings colorful leaves, chilly nights, and—explosions? It does at the “Sounds to Astound” shows!

Nothing’s better than sweet science, and this year the BYU Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is celebrating National Chemistry Week’s theme “The Sweet Side of Chemistry—Candy,” October 19–25.

CPMS undergraduate students have an opportunity to secure funding for doing the research they’ve dreamt of, thanks to the BYU Office of Research and Creative Activities (ORCA) Grant.
