We’ve all heard about the common symptoms of graduation: the frantic excitement; the knot in our stomachs; the sinking feeling; and the frantic hope that everything is going to work out.

Do you too suffer from graduation anxiety? Are you looking for a job after college? Well look no further for a cure. The college would like to introduce you to the Career Fair: a place where all of your job and internship related dreams can come true! The Career Fair is an event held biannually for students (current and past) who want to connect with employers. Through this unique opportunity, students are able to network with potential employers, apply for internships and jobs, experience interviewing with industry-leading companies, and work to ensure after-graduation employment. The big companies who are registered span the entire spectrum from the Air Force to Zions.”

Here are a few things students should do to prepare for the fair:

  • Complete your profile on BYU Bridge including selecting any skills you have.
  • Attend a resume critique session with an advisor at University Career Services, and upload your resume on BYU Bridge.
  • Research potential employers to prepare for an interview, then opt-in to a resume book for the company you would like to be considered for on BYU Bridge.
  • Bring a few hard copies of a critiqued resume to give to employers.
  • Dress as you would for a formal interview.

The BYU Career Fair is for all majors and all students. Freshmen and sophomores should go to the Career Fair both to expose themselves to potential employers and to acquire interview and presentation skills, while juniors and seniors should attend seeking internships and job placement after college.

If you’re looking for a solution to finding a job after graduation, the Career Fair is the place for you!

The Career Fair will be held Thursday, January 29, 2015 in the Wilkinson Center Ballroom from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Register through Recpass on BYU Bridge or at the student entrance that day.
