If chronic boredom in middle school math and science were a disease, then we have the cure: a fair called MEA Discover STEM at BYU.

The BYU Mathematics Education Association (MEA) will be hosting their annual Discover STEM at BYU Fair for middle school students in the Wilkinson Center Garden Court on Saturday, March 5 beginning at 9 a.m. All students from sixth to eighth grades in the Alpine, Provo, Wasatch, Jordan, and Nebo school districts are invited to attend.

The goal of this event is to stimulate the interest of young students in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through interactive booths. Volunteers from BYU’s various STEM majors will provide hands-on experiments at each booth, which encourage the students to apply the principles of science and math in an entertaining setting.

For the past two years, this event has provided an environment for learning that teachers and students have described as both fun and engaging. Click here for more information.
