There is a common misconception that all scholarships are funded by wealthy, middle-aged philanthropists. But during Choose To Give (C2G), BYU opens the door to a less likely group of donors:  students.

C2G is an annual fundraiser during which BYU students can make small cash donations to fund need-based scholarships for other students. Booths for donations will be found campus-wide from March 7 to March 12.

All proceeds from C2G will be used to help deserving students who lack the financial means to attend BYU. Now in its sixteenth year, this university tradition has raised funds to award scholarships to approximately 100 students in need. In recent fundraisers, an average of $12,500 per year has been collected from generous students.

As if a healthy conscience wasn’t enough incentive to donate, the Deans of the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences will also be grilling hot dogs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 7 in the quad area north of the Eyring Science Center. Students and faculty can make a donation in exchange for a hot dog.
