Do you have a fascination with asteroids? Ever wonder what happened to the dinosaurs? Dr. Tyler Lyson, an Associate Curator of Vertebrate Paleontology at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, is giving this year’s BYU Quey Hebrew Lecture entitled “After the Asteroid: Colorado Rocks tell Earth’s Comeback Story.”
Lyson received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Swarthmore College, then later earned his PhD at Yale University in paleontology. He is responsible for the discovery of the mummified hadrosaur fossil nicknamed Dakota.
As a vertebrate paleontologist, Lyson studies the extinction of dinosaurs, the evolution of reptiles (mostly turtles), and placental mammals.
The Quey Hebrew Lecture will take place in 251 Tanner Building on Thursday, March 5th, at 7 p.m. and is open to students in any major as well as the general public. You are invited to come for light refreshments before the lecture beginning at 6:00 p.m.
