Dean Grant Jensen of the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences is pleased to announce the reappointment of Keith Leatham as Chair of the Department of Mathematics Education. Leatham has been serving as chair since 2020, and his second term begins July 2023.
Leatham's research interests are on understanding the complexities of teaching and learning to teach mathematics. His current research projects study restructuring the student teaching experience to focus more on students’ mathematical thinking and exploring how classroom mathematics discourse can meaningfully build on that thinking.
