Biography
Scott T. Toborg, Ph. D., is a seasoned Data Science Leader with extensive experience in AI/ML product development and MLOps. He is known for his exceptional technical depth, leadership skills, and business acumen. With a robust background in managing technical teams and strategic planning, Scott has successfully led the development and deployment of products and services that have served millions and generated billions of dollars in revenue.
Prior to BYU, Scott’s most recent role was Vice President of Data Science and Analytics at Nu Skin Enterprises, where he spearheaded global data management and AI/ML application development, enhancing product recommendations, customer churn prediction, and demand forecasting. At Teradata Corporation, he led a team responsible for AI/ML products, contributing significantly to the company’s annual P&L. His expertise extends to AT&T Mobility, where he developed advanced marketing automation systems and machine learning models for customer behavior analysis.
Earlier in his career, Scott served as Vice President of Product Development at Control4 Inc., Chief Operations Officer at Bandwidth Advisors, and SVP Service Delivery Systems at Strata8 Networks, where he implemented innovative solutions and streamlined processes that significantly improved operational efficiency.
Scott’s academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering (Machine Learning) from the University of Southern California, an MS in Computer Science, and a BS in Applied Physics from Brigham Young University.
