Biography

I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics at Brigham Young University. Previous to this appointment I was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto, working with Timothy Chan on problems at the intersection of inverse optimization and strategy decisions in sports. In 2020, I completed my PhD in statistics under the supervision of Luke Bornn at Simon Fraser University. During my PhD I worked part-time as a basketball operations analyst for the Sacramento Kings. I did both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Statistics at Brigham Young University, graduating in 2012 and 2016 respectively.

Research Interests

Inverse optimization, decision analysis, Markov decision processes, and Bayesian modeling. Application areas of interest include sports analytics, environmental applications, and cognitive science.

Teaching Interests

I am currently teaching STAT 250 - Applied Programming in R.
