Biography
Kent Gee is the current Chair of the Department of Physics and Astronomy. He joined the BYU faculty after receiving his PhD in Acoustics from Penn State in 2005. He received the R. Bruce Linsday (early career) award from the Acoustical Society of America in 2010 and was elected Fellow in 2015. Kent was designated a Brigham Young University young scholar in 2011 and received the Lawrence K. Egbert Teaching and Learning Fellowship in 2015. Much of his research deals with measurement and characterization of high-amplitude sound, but maintains a broad interest in other areas of physical acoustics, noise, and acoustics education. Kent is Editor of Proceedings of Meetings on Acoustics.
