Biography

Greg Francis has been teaching physics at Montana State University for over thirty years. During that time, he has had the privilege of teaching over 32,000 students. He is the co-author of two textbooks, one for the algebra-based introductory sequence for pre-med students, and the other for the conceptual physics class. He was awarded the 2021 Millikan Medal by the American Association of Physics Teachers. This award recognizes educators who have made notable and intellectually creative contributions to the teaching of physics. In the Fall of 2023, he joined the faculty of Brigham Young University as a Teaching Professor of Physics. He and his wife, Sandra, have four children and 17 grandchildren.
