My general research interests are in the theory of dynamical systems and its applications. The type of system I am interested in are dynamical network, which are systems that have an underlying graph structure. This includes many machine learning algorithms. To analyze such systems, I focus on how a network can be modified in ways that change the network structure but preserve important aspects of its dynamics. These techniques have connections to graph and matrix theory and have potential applications to the biological, physical, social sciences, and AI.
