Dr. Halverson studies geometric topology and optimization. She has done research on the Steiner Problem, manifold factors, and other topological topics.
Dr. Hughes uses knot theory to describe and understand 3- and 4-dimensional shapes. He also utilizes machine learning and artificial intelligence systems to teach computers to recognize certain topological properties and solve problems.
Dr. Kent's research interests include local algebraic topology and geometric group theory with special emphasis in coarse invariants of groups. He has done significant research in low-dimensional wild topology.
Dr. Swenson researches algebraic and geometric topology. Some of his focuses include hyperbolic groups, boundary dimensions, convergence, and metric space.
