Douglas L. Corey
Dr. Corey's research compares mathematical instruction practices in the United States with those abroad. He also examines the relationship between a teachers mathematics knowledge and teaching effectiveness. Dr. Corey hopes to develop ways math teachers can improve their teaching.
Dr. Jones researches the effectiveness of current calculus education and the degree to which students grasp the new, challenging material. By assessing the strengths and weaknesses of different educational techniques, Dr. Jones hopes to optimize the learning of calculus.
Dr. Williams studies how well students understand mathematical concepts, like limits and coset and factor group. Dr. Williams also researches sociocultural approaches to knowledge and the effects of classroom discourse between teachers and students.
